5 Key Benefits of Outpatient Mental Health Treatment

Benefits of Outpatient Mental Health Treatment

If you’re struggling with depression, anxiety, or other chronic mental health challenges, it’s important to know that traditional inpatient care isn’t your only treatment option. If you’ve been hesitant to seek treatment because you’re intimidated by the thought of staying at a hospital or residential facility 24/7 with around-the-clock monitoring, outpatient treatment could be an excellent alternative.

Outpatient treatment allows you to live at home and maintain your normal daily routine while still receiving care to help you manage your mental health. This approach involves regularly scheduled appointments and can last for as long as you need.

At Eagle View Behavioral Health, we offer both inpatient and outpatient treatment options for residents of Bettendorf, Iowa, and the surrounding communities. Let’s look at some of the reasons clients choose our outpatient program to support their mental health journey.

  1. Outpatient Programs Help You Build Resilience in Real-Time

Outpatient care allows you to face your challenges head-on, right where they occur. Instead of being in a controlled environment 24/7, you’re returning home after each session to navigate day-to-day concerns with new tools and perspectives. This includes learning how to manage stress at work, communicate more effectively with your friends and family, stop intrusive thoughts, and make time for self-care in the midst of a busy day.

Eagle View Behavioral Health’s services include two general types of outpatient treatment options: the Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). PHP is offered five days per week for six hours a day, with patients returning home in the evening. It is often either a “step down” from hospitalization or a “step up” when outpatient treatment is not producing the desired results. IOP is offered three days per week for three hours a day and is recommended for patients who do not require the structure of a full-day PHP program.

  1. Outpatient Care Lets You Still Attend to Your Other Responsibilities

Outpatient treatment isn’t about putting your life on hold—it’s about integrating healing into your existing daily routine. If you’re a parent with young children, a caregiver for elderly family members, or a busy working professional, outpatient care allows you to honor your commitments while still receiving the support you need to address your mental health concerns.

At Eagle View Behavioral Health, our flexible outpatient treatment programs make care accessible in a wide range of circumstances—complete with nutritionally balanced lunches and snacks and affordable transportation services available upon request. A telehealth option may also be available for those who qualify.

  1. Outpatient Treatment Provides a Support System That Grows With You

Dealing with mental health issues can leave you feeling isolated and alone, but outpatient treatment surrounds you with others who understand your struggles and celebrate your victories. In group therapy sessions, you share experiences, learn from others, and develop lasting friendships. The people you meet while taking part in our programs can become lifelong friends who support your wellness journey long after your formal treatment ends.

Eagle View Behavioral Health’s outpatient programs include options for both adults and teenagers. Our program for adolescents is referred to as the After School Program and includes sessions three days a week, each lasting three hours.

  1. Outpatient Treatment Plans Can Be Customized to Fit Your Unique Needs

Mental health isn’t one-size-fits-all, and neither is outpatient treatment. Treatment can be personalized to include individual therapy, group therapy, medication management, skills-building workshops, or a combination of approaches. As your needs evolve, we’ll continue to update your plan to ensure you’re always receiving the most effective care possible.

At Eagle View Behavioral Health, we offer outpatient treatment plans personalized to fit the needs of people struggling with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and suicidal thoughts. Programs are also available for people who have a dual diagnosis of a mental health disorder and a substance use disorder.

  1. Outpatient Programs Provide Cost-Effective Care Without Compromising Quality

Let’s face it—healthcare costs can be daunting. Outpatient treatment often provides a more affordable option than inpatient care, without sacrificing the quality of treatment you receive.

At Eagle View Behavioral Health, we’re committed to working with you to find payment options that make treatment accessible and sustainable. We accept most private insurance, as well as Medicare and Medicaid. Payment plans are offered and financial assistance may be available.
